Undergraduate Business Council

Service Month

The Undergraduate Business Council (UBC) is celebrating Service Month with a focus on showing gratitude during these troubled times. UBC will contribute money to a charity pot per video submission (a goal of $300). The videos will be collected and compiled together at the end of the month!

Please record a short clip, 5 – 10 seconds, of yourself saying what you are thankful for this year. We are looking for a variety of answers so please be creative and have fun with it.

-We are looking for you to express your thanks with energy and enthusiasm.

-You can use Zoom on your phone or computer to make the recording.

-Please look into the camera and smile for a few seconds before you begin talking and for a few seconds afterwards. Smile, be happy 🙂

I don’t have an expensive camera to film with…

  • We encourage you to use your phone camera! We prefer the recording to be in horizontal, but as long as the clip is within 5-10 seconds we’ll accept any recording style!

What do I do if I’m not sure what I’m doing counts as an act of service?

  • Any activity where it helps another person or demonstrates a level of care towards another should be your baseline guide! All videos will be reviewed as they are collected. Send in an email to ubc@uw.edu if you have any real concerns.

Is there anything that I shouldn’t do or wear?

  • Use common sense here, is there any appropriate action or clothing that is in your video that you would not want shown in public?

Where is the donation money going?

  • That will be up to you to decide! Near the end of the month we will have a poll of various charities as options for where the money can go.

What if I am violating COVID-19 restrictions by participating in this?

  • We highly encourage you to remain safe and healthy and follow COVID-19 Guidelines. Do not do anything that would put you or others in danger.
